Cost for obtaining QLTS may prima facie appear to be £3000 odd pounds but other costs all add up to make approximately a whopping £10000. Therefore it is important to seriously consider the balance of advantage before deciding to take up the QLTS test, especially since training contracts are offered for 2016  or 2017 for those qualifying the QLTS and applying for training contracts in 2013 or 2014,  and any experience if any may not amount to much. Candidates who are being sponsored by their current employers needn't worry very much however those individuals who are applying independently may experience the risk of unemployment or later than needed employment in addition to incurring considerable costs. Hence such individuals need to think long and hard before taking up the challenge.

 

I have created a table which is given below depicting the approximate cost that could be incurred by an individual for taking up the QLTS examination. Depending on where you stay and your planning and requirements this could increase or decrease marginally but expect to spend in the £10,000 area.
